EPISODE 055 | No Justice, No Peace!

Listen

Belinda describes her present emotions, her experiences growing up in a rough neighborhood in LA, which led to her first experiences with the police, she tells us how she got out, her family history of activism (her grandfather was president of the NAACP and so much more!), and what its like raising a Black son in our world and being a Black woman in corporate America. She tells us what it’s been like protesting - and we even have a special clip from one of the L.A. protests where she led a cathartic chant.

From this episode, you’ll get powerful insight into the types of systemic racism that exist in corporate America, our society, and the toll its taken on the Black community, including the toll of code switching because of the societal pressure to suppress natural, cultural, Black human nature. Belinda and I discuss abusive patterns in our government and society that need to change, so you can start taking action too. And, not least of all, you’ll get inspiration and hope because of the positive changes that are already happening.

Despite the overwhelm, Belinda is excited for what’s to come.

About Belinda

Our guest is Belinda Harvey, of Los Angeles, Calif. She’s an IT sales executive with more than 30 years at the same fortune 100 company. She’s a thoughtful and proactive leader.

She’s not only a daughter, sister, mom, and girlfriend, but she’s been reinvigorated as an activist for Black lives because the year 2020 has been an emotional ride in uncovering existing systemic racism that the country and world had perhaps gotten complacent about.
