EPISODE 040 | Body Love and the Strip Tease with Kinetic Kristen
Listen
Last week’s guest detailed trauma stemming from being unseen and staying small in the world. This week, we transition into a story of empowerment through being seen - performing on stage in the circus arts. By circus arts, we’re talking aerial acrobatics, hula hopping, cyr wheel, and burlesque dancing.
Kristen Teffeteller, known on stage as Kinetic Kristen, of Nashville TN is a 4 foot 11 inch wild child who just loves her job - she affectionately describes it as playing with toys.
It’s not all about the strip tease, but Kristen tells us how she decided to go for it, plus the importance of movement, expressing yourself, and listening to your body.
You get empowerment to love your body, to have control over your own body, know that its okay to be seen, and an understanding that your physical health is tied to your mental health and ability to relate to the world around you. Movement is important to the human condition, but most importantly, “do the damn thing!”
Plus, you’ll find links to help support Kristen in this time of social distancing and also Nashville’s own Alley Cat Cabaret, that have both taken a double hit from the early-March Nashville, Tenn. tornado and now COVID-19.

About Kristen
Kinetic Kristen slings hoops, rides & wrangles a Cyr wheel, and flips, kicks and splits her way through every performance. After following her love of music to Nashville, this tiny Tennessee tornado ran away with the real circus, performing as a professional circus artist across the US and Canada on a regular basis and teaching hula hoop and acrobatics at the Delinquent Debutantes studio. Infamous for existing solely on caffeine and rock ‘n’ roll, Kinetic Kristen imbues her acts with a fierceness to rival any mythical warrior and tricks to make you say, “What. The. F*%^!”

Note: While we’re making a drastic effort to keep our loved ones and ourselves safe, there is still a different impact. Kristen has been personally impacted by the early March Nashville, Tenn. tornado in addition to COVID-19 pandemic social distancing and entertainment venue shut downs.
